“That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.”
—2 Timothy 1:14 (KJV)
I was sitting on the beach listening to Tom Petty when four words came sailing into my mind as clear as the tide rolling in:
Gospel Fed, Jesus Led.
I sat straight up and said, “That came from the Holy Spirit. Write it down.”
I knew those words were bigger than a catchy saying. I could feel it clear down in my bones. But before long, I tried to hand the idea off and turn it into T-shirts.
The trouble was, the assignment wasn’t mine to give away.
God had placed it in my hands, but I wasn’t sure I was worthy to carry it. I figured somebody else could do more with it. But God gets to choose who He calls. My part is to quit arguing with Him and tend what He gave me.
Maybe you’ve done that too. Maybe God tucked a dream, a calling, or a quiet little beginning into your heart, and you pushed it aside because somebody else looked more qualified.
But God has never needed perfect people. He needs willing ones.
So I’m picking the assignment back up—not because I have every step figured out, but because I know Who placed it in my hands.
That is why this devotional exists.
We’re going to open the Bible, take in the Gospel, and let Jesus lead us one faithful day at a time.
Gospel fed. Jesus led.
That’s not just a saying anymore. It’s how we’re going to walk.
Prayer
Father, forgive me for laying down what You placed in my hands. Thank You for trusting me even when I doubted myself. Help me stop measuring my worthiness and start trusting Your wisdom. Feed me through Your Word, lead me by Your Spirit, and give me strength to carry this calling one faithful day at a time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
